Cooling down...

The temperature is not that bad here in Singapore, but the humidity just knocks you out some times..... Then the pool is great to have!

Dad is definitely the best one to have in the pool. The kids love to swim and play with him.
Phillip is already getting a good grip on the swimming - ducking under and paddling away. He loves the freedom of no floaties (which is just with daddy....mom is to scared!)
How much water can I get into this hole.....
Being thrown of daddy's back can be fun if one is prepared. Thomas has been angry a few times when he wasn't prepared and got his nose full of water..tjihi!
Thomas diving down to get the bucket.

Jurong bird park

On Sunday (14th of july) we decided to be proper tourists and visit the bird park. Its only a 15 min drive from where we live.

The kids love penguins (the stuffed penguin Granddad sent have been used a lot + the movie Happy Feet!), so they both agreed that this was the first place we should stop. For 20 sing dollars we were allowed to pat the penguin and had our picture taken.
Heaps of people feeding birds, so no point for us to do it this time.... maybe next time this will be Thomas' or Phillips' hand!
Parrots playing in the water.
Legs got a bit tired.....so we went on the train. Gave up our seats to a big Indian family, and where allowed to sit in the front with the driver.
And then it was about time to head home.........

Washing the car

On Saturdag (12th of July) Rachel, our domestic helper (being political correct!) decided to wash our car - and yes, it really needed it! The boys really wanted to come along, so of we went - two women and two blond headed boys...
As we got stared suddenly a bunch of men (Indian I think) gathered around "getting water"! Quite funny to constantly have people coming over for water or to wash hands. Tjhihi!!
Rachel giving the boys a quick lesson on how to do it.
The boys worked really hard......for a while....
Then they got bored with washing....but not with playing with the water!
Soap and water can make it very slippery...... Au!!

Sundaydinner....

In the middle of the city you find Chijmes, which is an old convent made in to restaurants and bars.

A nice outdoor area where the kids could play while waiting for the food. Phillip loves his Singapore taxi-car!

Dinner was eaten quickly, so more activities where needed. Phillip got a lot of attention laying on the ground drawing!

Daddy is doing a great job entertaining the tow boys at the same time!

Two lovely boys!!
But now it is about time to go home..... No food left, and we have played with all the toys!!

Time to play...

Activities the kids love to do!
Swimming is very fun! Both Thomas and Phillip are getting quit good in the water. This area is actually daddy's, mum is to scared to we involved in this!!
Kaptein Sabeltann lives in Singapore too! They both like to dress up as pirates or lions or what ever they can find.

The kids room. Here they are on a boat-trip. They gathered all the pillows they could find.
Cooking lessons.... Working very hard on making mum and dad dinner!

Pulau Ubin

First weekend in July we decided it was about time we saw some of the islands surrounding Singapore. We took at day-trip to Ubin. The ferry from Changi Village took about 15 minutes. The boat left when it had about 12 people in....

The main street on the island. We decided that we needed some food before we did anything physical..... Thomas didn't totally agree on that - loves to ride his bike!
Rode our bikes to Johor to see the fence splitting Malaysia and Singapore - try to keep the refuges away. Malaysia in the background.

Having a pit stop for food at the beach - water and Ritz crackers. Thomas rode his bike very well, but Phillip was not to happy to sit behind big-mams back!
Thomas found a "stick" he wanted to bring home......

West Coast Park

This park is just a 15 min walk from were live. Normally this is were we are going - or Thomas is riding his new bike (which he got from Grandma and Grandad) and Phillip is sitting in the stroller - when we need to get some energy out after kindergarten!

Thomas has been learning about the Olympics in kindergarten. At the end they all made a crown of laurel and got a medal. In Singapore they watch DVD about the different sports.....would maybe been nice to try them out???

At the playground there are many different things to do for kids - all ages! This one s Thomas' favourite!!

Full concentration!

Phillip love to "borrow" Thomas' bike.... He climbs up, but can't reach the pedals, so gets a bit frustrated with that!

Can you push me mum....please!!! Note that he is still keen on the safety equipment!

Varsity Park

The key to our new home was collected on the 20th of May, and the contain arrived on the 23rd of May - that was also when we moved in! The boys were so happy to see all their toys, and especially the bed.

One of the kids favourite spot - "the beach"!

Right outside we have a lot of small "channels". Thomas and Phillip love to throw things into the water, and of course somebody fell in and mom had to jump inn to fish him up.......yes, it was Phillip!

More pictures of Varsity Park can be found at this site:

Sunprotection!!

In the beginning mum was a bit hysterical about sunscreen.... know how it is to be burned! Are a bit more relaxing now - which the boys are happy about!

Macritchie Reservoir Park

While looking for an apartment, we also got to see a bit of Singapore. The boys are haveing a break on our looong walk around the MacRitchie Lake (never got around....found a playground!)

Luckily we didn't see any..... Kids were a bit disappointed, but not mum! Its also said to be a lot of long-tailed macaques here.........

Pooltime

The boys love to swim in the pool. Here they are one morning getting ready by them self!! At least Phillip have the saftyequipment set!!

Helloooo

Now we have finally arrived, but we are all struggelig with jetleg! Live in lorong Sharhad in a condo. Luckely its just a pitstop before we find our own place....

Leaving Oslo 20th of April 2008

Linda, Marius and Anne Siri drove us to the airport. We were going to take some quick photos of everyone before we left.....but after this one the memorycard was full! Quit a few teardropps fell that day......
