17th of May - Norewgian nationalday

Sunday morning we all set of to Fort Canning Park, to celebrate the Norwegian national day. Mom was a bit stressed, we have a tendency of being late, but to day we manage to arrive an hour to early in the park. So by the time started coming, the kids wanted to go home!

The parade. First the 17th of May- comity, then the marching band (put together by moms and dads - but very good!), the the Norwegian Supplementary school, and then parents, siblings etc.

Where is mom....

After the parade, we all gathered in the park, and had a lunch, and there were activities for the kid. The magic show was the kids favorite!

No 17th of May without sausages, popcorn and candyfloss! The boys manage to eat two of them - Thomas even wanted more!

After the parade and lunch, we went to Birgitte and Ivar's house for swimming and BBQ.

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Every time we want to go for a walk-about its raining......but finally we got to go! Hi,hi!

The boys are all ready - hat, mosquitoe reppellant, backpack with food and magnifying glass! Off we go!

Already exploring - giant ants! The ants go march one by one...hurray hurray! Saw and heard monkeys too!
One out of three food breaks! All the breaks might have something to do with what mom put into the lunchboxes......yummi chocolate and raisins for energy, and some wheat bisects to be a bit healthy!
The boys really loved the walk-about! Used to to that a lot with kinder garden i Norway, but its scary to see how quickly they have adopted to the flat walk!

Roots everywhere - so hard to keep the balance - but fun!

Zoo

19th of April we finally made it to the zoo, which Phillip had wished for his birthday.

Don't do anything on a empty tummy! So first we had some lunch/dinner, and then Daddy bought the biggest of the biggest icecreams for the boys! Heaven!

The goal for the trip was the water park - of course - but we stopped and looked at quite a few animals on the way. First up, as always - the kids love these lazy polar bears!

Rhino.

Thomas' photo of the giraffes.

Right before the water park, you can walk into a closed garden, where you can see butterflies, bats, ducks, turtles, rays and this one close up! Sid from Ice Age!

To busy at the water park to take photos. But on the way back to the car we always have to go past the white tigers!

Launching of a supply vessel

On 14th of April we were allowed to come long to the launching of the supply vessel that Dad had been work on. The boys were really looking forward, and was really excited when they tried the helmets on.
The boys waiting for something to happen......but we had to wait for the tide, which took at least an hour or more!!
To keep the kids busy, they took hips of photos. This is one of the 30 pictures that Thomas took of the vessel.
The guy from the shipyard, I think, took quite a few pictures of us too. I Think they were very impressed that Dad had brought his kids!

When the guy sent these pictures to Daddy, he ended his mail saying "...and capability of having two cute babies for future DNV and your best companion lady." Best companion lady - what? Need to have a talk to Dad!! Hi,hi!

Phillip is also catching up on his pictures. He also took about 20 pictures of the boat....or shoes, his own shirt, bellies walking past, the ground etc.

Finally - off it went, with no problems! We went to an office afterwards and had lunch. It was a lot of waiting this day, but I think we were all happy that we went. Now both of the boys want to do what Daddy is doing when they grow up!

Chinese & Japanese Garden

In the beginning of April Daddy had work a lot because of the upcoming launching of a boat, so the boys and I had a few fieldtrips by ourselves. This Sunday we decided to explore Chinese garden.
This is seven-story pagoda which they say give a great view of the garden, but to many stairs to climb for us, so Thomas just took 15 pictures of it instead!

This they the kids decided that they should be proper tourists and take the photos!

Inside the garden there is also a live turtle and tortoise museum, and I had read in the guidebook that they had a live two-headed, six-legged turtle, so the kids were really excited. But the turtle had dies in December 2007. The boys feeding he turtles, and one of the even got a taste of Thomas' finger.....At first he got really scared, but then it became quite funny!! Hi, hi!!

Phillips photo of the Garden of Abundance - very impressive penjing garden (Chinese bonsai). Some of the bonsai were really old!

Phillip counting the fish!

The garden is set around Jurong Lake.

Water is fun!

At the end of March 09, we decided to take a trip back to Singapore Science centre, but none of us found it interesting at all that day, so we went out to the water play outside.

Phillip was really enjoying running through the water.....
....Thomas was playing with the different games they had!

During the day we often have the pool to ourselves, so the boys are allowed to bring their buggiboard (?). Thomas loves this!

Phillip the master of bubbles!

The leader and the assistent!

Phillip 3 years old!

We decided to celebrate Phillip's birthday on Sunday the 5th, so we could make a day out of it. Phillip had chosen to go to the zoo, long time ago - but of course it was raining cats and dogs!

Phillip was so excited when he got all his presents this morning....but mom had forgot to charge the camera...... But manage to get one of them building the Lego coast guard boat!

Phillip got to choose the dinner too.... If I don't remember wrong, I think it was sausage and macaroni! Yummi....
Earlier on the day Thomas and I baked Phillip a cake - which they decorated very well!

One happy "Dumbo"!

On the actual day he celebrated the day in kinder garden. He wanted a Spiderman cake, so of course mom made one (or bought one). Daddy told us stories about all the fantastic cakes that Grandma use to made for their birthdays.....but it didn't work - Hi,hi!

Phillip surrounded by the girls! After the cake came the candybag...... the peak of every birthday! Phillip was so proud to hand them out, but I don't know how happy the teachers were....a lot of the kids were to sleep!

A positive thing being abroad, is that the presents kept coming for weeks - but the problem came when they stopped!

Sightsing!

Its good to have guest that can entertain themselves!
The gang out on the sightseeing bus. Jump on, and get off where you would like to...and then back on again! A good and quick way to see the city (in any country!).

Very common view in Singapore....might see less now that the economy is going "a bit" downhill!

The symbol of Singapore - The Merlion - the baby one!

The Esplanade, yet another thing to put on the list of things that we have to do in Singapore.....but still two years to go!

River cruise after dark - lovely!

Of corse we also went to Ubin!

I think almost all our visitors have been to Ubin, and of course we had to go this time too!
Had to wait a bit before we could get onto the "ship" - we had forgotten to bring cash, so Rob had to run to look for a amt - but finally we were on our way!

As we always to - eat first then we can go cycling! Ellen had been thought have to pose by the girls, and now it was my turn to be trained!

Picking good bikes for our big journey! The most important thing is to check the breaks - which I do very well!
Off we go! This was Phillips first time riding a bike on the island. He did very well, his little feet were paddling away! I was a bit afraid if his breaking ability......but no crashes!

Group picture! Now the kids are doing the "correct" posing too!

Then it was about time to head back before the rain would come! Just made it......and so did quite a lot of other people!! Cue, cue, cue!
