Vietnamese Water Puppet Show

We went to the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theatre to see the show. We were all quite impressed, especially at the end when you saw how many people that was behind the scene.... amazing that they didn't clash!

This one was called "Boat racing" (I think).

This I don't remember he name of..

I think this was the "Fairy dance".

Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam

Daddy had a business trip to Vietnam while Grandma and Grandad was here, so we thought we join Daddy for the weekend. (20. - 23 of November 2008)
Thomas an Phillip at the airport in Singapore - some advertising for Disneyland in Hong Kong. "No boys, we are going to Vietnam!"

After we arrived at the hotel we needed some fluid. The kids took the opportunity to get an ice cream of course ! Later on it was swimming time before the rain sat in!

The boys are enjoying their drinks in the bar before dinner was served. The boys felt so cool!

Not many blond headed boys at the restaurant, so Thomas got all the attention from all the waitresses. He, on the other hand....

... was more busy flirting with the singer in the band. She sang to him and blow kisses - they really start early these days!

Phillip is a big boy with a big bike!!

Grandma and Grandad asked Phillip if he wanted a big bike too, and Phillip just said yes, yes. But when they took him to the shop and he finally understood what was happening, he was jumping up an down saying thank you thank you!! One of the best days for Phillip!

Out riding his new bike! He did really well, he was flying around in our condominium like nothing...but the problems came when he had to brake.....Watch out people! He almost went flying down some stairs, but luckily he missed it and hit the pole next to it!

The boys are ready to bike through Clementi Park. Do you notice a big mistake in the picture.....yes. no helmet on Phillip, and his is actually the one that really needs it - but the store was unfortunately sold out!! (Still missing this important piece)

Good for Phillip that Grandad is close by, and guiding him a bit - even though he didn't think he needed any help. But suddenly he went flying down the hill - break Phillip, break! Uhhh?? Luckily grandad ran after him, and caught him just before he flew off the bike! (Have to do a brake course with that boy!)

Ended up at West Coast Plaza where we had an ice cream, and the kids played a bit before we stared on the journey back home, and more exercise for Grandad!

No trainingwheels with Grandad

When daddy was a little boy, Grandad thought him how to ride the bike with no help. We had a hope that maybe Grandad could do it again, but i don't think Thomas was ready for this..

Grandad was really patience with Thomas.....riding up and down the footpath. Phillip in the background with his tricycle - riding up and down too!

A little pep-talk before riding up the footpath again. "Now remember Thomas...". Grandma and I was cheering on the sideline - Go Thomas, Go Thomas!!

Grandad did a really good job with Thomas, but he was just not ready for "this freedom".... but maybe next time!

But guess who also had to have a go....Phillip! Not scared at all, but didn't have much of a clue! But still - Go Phillip, Go Phillip!

West Coast PArk

Since the West Coast Park is so close by, we try to use it as much as possible, and of course we had so show it to Grandma and Grandad too.

Grandad really got his exercise this day! Pushing Thomas across on the bar in the sand...he will feel that tomorrow! Grandma had the easy job - taking photos!

Phillip started out playing with his taxi-car in the sandpit, but when he saw what Grandad and Thomas was doing he wanted too....so Grandad got some more exercise!

After they all got a bit tired, especially Grandad I think, they started on the climbing rout. Good to practice their balance, and more exercise for the kids....and not the grandparents!!

Full concentration!! After all this exercise, we had lunch at McDonalds....hi,hi!!

Grandma and Grandad

The days before Grandma and Grandad came, the boys worked hard on their poster. When they arrived 8th of November, the boys and Daddy met them with a big poster and a big smile!

Thomas and Phillip coloured the letters, and drew Grandma (Thomas) and Grandad (Phillip). Don't know what happened to grandma's mouth....maybe a beard??

Fruit-snack with the grandparents!

RAIN!

When it rains in Singapore- it rains! The kid love to run around in the rain. A lot of the locals looks quite strangely at us, when they see to boys in swimming pans running around jumping in the samll ponds when the rain is pouring down!

Linda got Thomas and Phillip a proper "Kaptein Sabelatnn"-umbrella, which they love to use! The rain is just splashing up from the table! FUN!!

Phillip doesn't mind the rain and the lightning....but thunder is no good! Very loud and scary!!

Thomas just enjoys it all. Love when I give him task to do in the rain - run to the tree hut, touch the bench, pick me a flower etc.

Halloween 2008

Friday 31st of October, and the boys are ready for their first Halloween walk! The condo had made a list of all the people that wanted to participate in the celebration, and of course the boys said YES!
All dressed up and ready to go. Phillip had a few changes before he left - did not want to wear costume, so did our best with the "normal" cloches we had - and the boy was happy!

Cool dude!!

Better run to get as much candy as possible....and they really got a lot of candy!! But when the eyebrows and mustaches started to really smear out (sweaty and hot), and the bags where full - mom made them go home!!

Tent!

The kids got a lot of different stuffed animals which just lives in Australia from auntie Amy. Here they have built a tent for the newcomers.

Auntie Amy got the role as Mr. Koala-bear! I think Thomas was bossing everybody around, because after a while Phillip didn't want to play anymore, and auntie Amy had to take a nap!

The tent was not big enough for the "older" people, so they had to sit outside and peek in!

As the other players left, Thomas just replaced them with other stuffed animals.....and mom!!

The long, riverboat cruise

This time we were going to try the longer cruise on the river of Singapore. If I remember correct, we started at Roberston Quay.

Thomas doing some activities, while daddy is trying to figure out if we can park the care here without getting any fines.... Could not find any sign! (It went ok!)

Phillip fell asleep in the car on the way, so i good excuse for a coffee-break and an extended nap for the yougest.

Every time we take the river cruise, the rain comes. But that no problems for the kids.... They kept everybody busy selling and checking tickets. Her Phillip is checking if auntie Amy has purchased a ticket!

Three happy passengers!

Of corse - pooltime!

I guess on of the best things about our place is the pools. And auntie Amy had to go swimming quite a few times with the kids!

Auntie Amy is helping Thomas to swim...and Phillip is showing off that he can also swim with his head under water.

Phillip has a problem with getting a lot of water up his nose, and in his mouth too! Auntie Amy is showing Phillip how to solve the nose-problem!

Thomas really loved having auntie Amy as a "teacher". He is not always so willing to learn, but I think he is coping a lot, because suddenly he started swimming on his back - been watching auntie!

The boys love their auntie :)

Singapore Zoo

On the 21st of October, we decide to take a trip to the zoo. The kids love this place, and this time we even had an expert with us!!

Auntie Amy is getting a overview of the park - she was the guide. I am really bad at reading maps, so I was happy to get out of that job!

And of course we ended up in the outback of Aussie-land!! I guess it wasn't auntie Amy's first choice, but it was nice for the kids to get an expert to tell about all these animals!

It the outback you definitely need a proper car..... Maybe the boys will be like their dad - driving in the bush long before they should!! But as the older brother, Thomas was responsible one and took the driver position (even though Phillip thought that was unfair!!)

Auntie Amy teaching Thomas a bit about the kangaroos

The boys really love the butterflies. Phillip wanted for one of them to sit on his hand, but when they got to close, he started screaming - nice to look at, but don't come to close!!
